Newsletter for the Month of March 2010

Presbyter's Letter

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus Christ.

We are observing "Women's Day" on 5^th Friday of this month. The women of the Bible in all ages had certain trails or virtues in common -their devotion, faith and prevalence were like links in a golden chain forged by the Spirit of God.

 The Hebrew word for "Almighty" (Shaddai )indicates Gods sufficiency for any  situation. The word "Lord"(Yahoweh) refers to His faithfulness as the loving covenant - keeping God. How Naomi put these two names together. Naomi never lost sight of the fact that her God was a capable and faithful God and sure enough, He proved His capability to deliver her and His faithfulness to care for her to the very end.

 If there seems to be no way out of your despair, remember that Naomi's God is your God as well. We are going to the Lenten season. This season we take more time to meditate on the word of God so as to have maintenance to our spiritual life. Hebrews:9:11-22-Two things are emphatically mentioned which show the superiority of      His absolute sacrifice over the sacrifices offered by the old Testament priests.

 He offered His own blood- The ultimate gift of life itself for when the blood was shed, life was gone. The priests offered the blood of animals and birds; but Christ, His own sinless, spotless blood. The blood also shown the seriousness of sin(v.22).Beware of treating sin lightly. Beware of playing with sin. Look at it in all its seriousness and keep off from it .It was sin that made our precious Saviour to shed all His blood.

 He entered once for all. Christ’s dramatic entrance was once for all. There was no need for any repetition. It has brought us Eternal Redemption.

 Let us pray for all children who are writing the Annual Examination especially those who are writing Board Examination during this month.

Women’s Day: To-day (5^th March’10) is observed as ‘Women’s Day’. Hence lady members will conduct the Service. Kochamma will share the Word of

 God. Vanchika Box will be collected.

Ecumenical Service: During our Communion Service on 12^th March’10, Marthoma Order of Worship will be followed. Rev Raju Thomas (Vicar-in-charge)

of Ahmadi Marthoma Parish & Asst. Vicar of City Marthoma Parish) will conduct the Service.

Cottage Prayer : will be held at the residence of Mr Vincent Santhosh / Mrs Leela George on 19^th March’10 (3^rd Friday) at 11-30 AM.

I warmly welcome the following new members to our Congregation:

Sunday School Picnic: On 19^th Feb’10, our Sunday School Teachers and children went for Picnic at Fintas Garden, Fintas.

 The weather that day was very much in favour and all the children had an enjoyable time.

Committee Members have selected Mr Jacob John (Suresh) as Committee member in place of            Mr Kurien Jacob Modayil.

Annual Generalbody Meeting (AGM) :will be held on 9^th  April’10 (2^nd Friday) immediately after our Holy Communion Service.

All are requested to be present for the Service and for the meeting.

All the members are reminded to pay their yearly membership fees / arrears to the Treasurer before closing of accounts by 31^st March’10.

Church Directory’10 will be given for printing. All members are requested to submit their family photos to Mr Sam Mathew.

Any changes / additions may be informed to the church Secretary at the earliest.
