Presbyter's Letter

Dear and beloved in Christ.

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ,

27^th Sept is the formation day of Church of South India (C.S.I.). The birth of the Church of South India is known as second Pentecost Experience. 27^th Sept, 1947    should be engraved in golden letters in the annals of Indian Church History because on that day the four diverging Christian traditions namely Anglicans, Congregationalists, Methodists and Presbyterians came together to form a unique, united and uniting church in India. The barrier of creed and credentials, colour and cast, rich and poor etc were broken down before the high priestly prayer of our Master and the Church of South India accepted its watch word “That they all may be one” found in John 17:21. This organic unity is primarily meant for fellowship and service. We are called to be co-workers with God in order of fulfill the Nazareth – Manifesto. The church was united for a “Greater Peace, Closer Fellowship and Fuller of Life”. The church (ecclesia) is a called out community to be actively involved in God’s mission.

This month in the church calendar we observe first Friday as Youth Day and fourth Friday as Senior Citizen Day. I request for your prayers for them. May the Lord provide us a new vision and mission so that the life of the church may be enriched worldwide. Being a member of the body of Christ in CSI, let’s join to gather and serve the Lord.

Welcome back all the members who were on vacation.

To-day (3^rd Sept) is Raffle Coupon dedication.  Members are requested to collect Raffle Coupon books from the Convener and return the amount at the earliest. 1^st & 2^nd prizes for members selling maximum Coupons.

Special prayer : will be conducted during the Holy Communion Service on 1^st Oct’10 (1^st Fri) for all the school - going children and teachers.

Choir practice: for X-mas Carols will commence this month. Any new members who wish to join are requested to contact our Choir master, Mr Joji Pothen.

Sunday School: will commence from 1^st Oct’10 (1^st Fri). All children are requested to attend. Any new children who wish to join are requested to

contact SS Head Master, Mr Facin Mathai.

Harvest Festival’ 2010: will be held on 12^th Nov’10 (2^nd Fri). Venue will be announced later. All members are requested to participate earnestly. Please bring your family and friends on this occasion.

We need sponsors for gift items, food items etc. If anybody willing to contribute may kindly contact the HF Convener, Mr Ajay Mohan.

Also we need volunteers for food items, Pickles, cutlets and snack items. Volunteers are requested to contact Women’s Fellowship Secretary,
